Hello, I’m David Ballheim – a licensed Investment Advisor Representative in the State of Iowa. I also hold insurance producer licenses for Life, Accident & Health or Sickness and Credit insurance. This means that in addition to investment advisory services, I can provide insurance coverage to reduce the impact of negative events. I also have extensive knowledge of the mortgage industry and invite any questions you have pertaining to your mortgage.
My professional experience started with an integrated marketing firm specializing in Automotive Advertising. During the last two years with the company, I served as Vice President of the Agency Division. After four years in the advertising field, I transitioned into the finance industry joining Wells Fargo Financial. My time with Wells Fargo Financial was spent meeting with clients and managing their financial needs through a full line of services ranging from mortgage refinances to consolidation management. Having this experience made me realize that working in the financial industry best fit my personal business goals.
I left Wells Fargo to begin working for an independent Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm in Davenport, Iowa in the summer of 2010. It was with this firm that I learned how powerful the independent RIA business model is and how it is completely revolutionizing the financial advising industry.
I feel strongly that the broker-dealer model is becoming less relevant and that by operating an RIA, I have the flexibility and resources to help many investors in a manner they’ve never been accustomed to before. My main areas of advisory activities are financial planning services, portfolio management for individuals or small businesses, and insurance planning for estate planning purposes and protection.
Prior to my professional career, I attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls where I graduated in 2004 from the College of Business with Cum Laude academic honors. I was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa as the youngest of five boys. On October 3rd of 2009, I married my wife Kristen. Kristen, also a graduate from the University of Northern Iowa, works at John Deere as a Human Resources Representative.
We have three daughters: Lucille Barbara, Evelyn Marie and Audrey Armella. Outside of work I’m very active and have been involved in athletics my whole life. In my free time I enjoy coaching my daughters in their various sports, working out and golfing.
